Today I wanted to share with you our journey-based approach to managerial development programs. The development journeys we run at Jombay provide an on-the-go learning experience that is embedded in the work routine, reinforcing key learnings to managers & leaders and enabling application of learning on the job. Here are some recent programs where we were able to use our development journey approach to effectively solve the client’s talent development challenges.

1. BLUESTAR – Emerging Managers Program 

Bluestar is a multinational electronics company specializing in air conditioning and commercial refrigeration. Bluestar wanted to develop their emerging people managers and scale up their skillset, productivity, effectiveness and vision.

Jombay deployed a Development Program on competencies such as Executive presence, Problem solving & Decision making, Business Acumen, Strategic Thinking and Influencing Skills. This included virtual classes, continuous digital learning and reinforcement via Jombay’s iDev Plus app, and weekly nudging on a WhatsApp group managed by one of Jombay’s learning partners. Our survey results were able to identify that most of the participants found the learnings relevant and helpful.

2. Kinesso – Leap: Your Growth Journey

Kinesso is a global company that delivers data driven marketing solutions. Kinesso wanted to develop a mindset shift in their Assistant Managers (with 4-5 years of experience) to ensure that they stay aligned with the organization’s vision and drive desired results among their teams.

Jombay ran an immersive Development Program, with VILTs and self directed digital learning on competencies such as High Impact Communication, Building Trust & Stronger Relationships, Building Collaboration, Team Management & Problem Solving & Decision Making. We were thrilled to receive an appreciative and receptive audience, who gave our virtual classes a rating between 4.5- 4.8/5.

3. Virtusa – Talent Development Program

Virtusa is a global IT Services company. Virtusa wanted to put into place a talent development program for their mid senior leadership to equip them for the future. Jombay deployed a Development Program on competencies such as; Tension Tolerant Collaboration, Out Centric Leadership, Transparency, Emotional Intelligence, ROWE Focus & Executive Presence.

It consisted of a series of virtual classes, self directed digital learning and teach-back sessions. Participants thoroughly enjoyed the immersive sessions with our empanelled facilitators. Jombay has been able to run the program successfully with the help of meticulous program management, creative & refreshing content and robust partnership with the client.

4. Lowe’s – ACE Development Program 

Lowe’s is an American retail company specializing in home improvement. For their global technology center based out of India, Lowe’s wanted to develop Lead Engineers that were moving to Principal Engineer roles on competencies such as; Influencing Skills, Managing & Engaging Stakeholders, Driving Innovative Solutions & Adaptive Leadership.

The 6-month journey consisted of bite-sized activities & caselets on Jombay’s digital learning app, virtual masterclasses, and peer discussions. The journey concluded with a completion rate of > 80% and consistent participation!
